(04.01.2007) Women are raped. Cluster bombs kill innocent children. This is not allowed! There are actually rules during war time and the Red Cross makes sure they are followed. The Red Cross Youth spreads knowledge about the rules and encourage young people to join us in speaking up when they are broken.
In war and conflict horrible and degrading things happen. Soldiers and civilians are killed and many people get hurt. Rules exist, regulating what is allowed. We also know the rules of war as the Geneva Conventions. The Red Cross makes sure that the rules are followed and speaks up if they are broken.
What does the Norwegian Red Cross Youth?
Many people don’t know that rules in war exist. Because of this the Red Cross Youth has started the course “Rules in war”. Here you can learn about how people shall be treated during war time and about the special role of the Red Cross in conflict areas. Our courses are held by people under 30 years, for people under 30 years. The more people who know that there are rules in war, the more people can speak up when they are broken.
