Norwegian practice in Oslo

The Norwegian practice, "Norsktrening", is a place where you can practice your Norwegian with others who are also learning the language.

NB: Because of the coronavirus, norwegian practive will be closed until further notice. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we all have to do what we can to stop the spread of the virus.

Information about the Corona Virus

If you are looking for information about the Corona Virus in English or other languages, here are some good websites from Norwegian officials:

Here you can find information from the Oslo municipality (Oslo Kommune)

Here you can find information about self-quarantine and Islolation (Folkehelseinstituttet)

Do you need help with your spoken Norwegian? come to our Norwegian Practice or "Norsktrening". This is not a language course, but simply a place to practice your Norwegian with others.

What is Norwegian practice?

Norwegian practice is an opportunity to come and practice spoken Norwegian in groups lead by a volunteer. The volunteers are not Norwegian teachers, so this is not a Norwegian language course. You will be placed in a group depending on your level in Norwegian, so that you get to practice with people on the same level as you. This gives you the opportunity to practice what you already know, as well as learning new  words and expressions. Every group is lead by a volunteer who speaks Norwegian. Volunteers use pictures, games and exersises to help the group practice their language skills.

Who can come to Norwegian practice?

Norwegian practice is an activity for everyone above 18 years of age who wishes to practice their Norwegian. You can come to Norwegian practice even if your Norwegian is very limited. You do not have to sign up to join, but we recommend arriving early. There are a lot of people who are interested in the activity, and a limited amount of space.
